Elementary and Secondary Schools in New York State
Chapter 584 of the Laws of 2005 – New York State Green Cleaning Law amends the New York State Education Law and Finance Law to require elementary and secondary schools to procure and use environmentally sensitive cleaning and maintenance products and processes with assistance from, and in accordance with, guidelines prescribed by the NYS Office of General Services (OGS) Commissioner. The Law went into effect in September 2006.
Pure Environment offers facility managers, school administrators, educators, and parents a wealth of information and tools to promote adoption of effective green cleaning practices, leading to healthier indoor environments for their children.

Testimonials
Director, Finance & Administration, The Mandell School:
The Mandell School is a growing private K-8 institution with a 70 year history and a reputation for excellence in the community. When we decided to look for an outside cleaning company, we knew we needed a trustworthy, reliable, “hands on” partner with outstanding communication capabilities to assist us. We needed a company that had the flexibility to meet the demands of our school’s varied schedule and to meet the high standards we maintain for our student body and parent community. With constantly evolving activities, parent and PTA meetings, social events, athletic events, coupled with a variety of special occasions and sensitive issues, as well as the unexpected snow days, we knew we needed a close working partner who could meet our ever growing needs.
After careful research, review and numerous meetings, we hired Pure Environment as our cleaning service and I am pleased to say that our expectations were exceeded and we got what we were looking for. From the outset, Pure Environment was dependable, honest, and attentive to our needs, supplying the daily maintenance as well as the crews necessary for special events and projects. Weekly meetings were routine for review of schedule and determining continuous improvement strategies. Steve Brescia made sure a crew was always readily available to us and that the school was very well maintained and ready for any daily, evening or weekend activity.
We know that the business of keeping a school facility clean depends on good workers and focused, dedicated management and constant communication. With Pure Environment, we got the maintenance that we required for our discerning faculty, administration and staff and most important, for our valued students and their families.
I am delighted to recommend Pure Environment as a service provider; they are professional, courteous and superb in their attention to detail.”
Project Engineer, US Gypsum:
Pure Environment Maintenance initiated their industrial deep cleaning services at US Gypsum’s Stony Point Plant in February of 2007. Pure’s weekly services keep our plant’s restroom and break room facilities in top shape.
At our plant it is extremely difficult to maintain a good sanitation level due to the industrial nature of the environment, but I would have to say that Pure raised the bar and rose to the challenge that USG provided. They not only met expectations, but exceeded them.
When first contracted I was concerned that Pure’s on-site team would have a difficult time adjusting to USG’s Safety culture, but as weeks progressed I noticed that the team adapted quickly. I’m pleased to say that they have a great attitude towards Safety which is extremely important at USG.
I would recommend Pure Environment Maintenance to anyone who is looking for professional services with professional results. Every concern that USG had was handled with utmost priority and in a professional manner. Thank you for your continued services at US Gypsum’s Stony Point Plant.
